Liquid Crystal Emulsifier (product code YLLCE) is a ready-to-use, all-in-one oil-in-water emulsifying system made from a balanced blend of Sucrose Stearate, Glyceryl Stearate and PEG-60 Sorbitan Stearate, together with Propylene Glycol, Sorbitol and Aqua. During emulsification the blend self-organizes into ordered liquid crystal structures that closely resemble the layered arrangement of lipids in the skin’s barrier. It produces highly stable emulsions with fine, uniform droplets and delivers outstanding, long-lasting moisturizing ability. Supplied as a smooth white concentrate in 5–20 kg packaging, it is effective across a wide range of use levels (0.5–5%), allowing formulators to create everything from light lotions to rich, nourishing creams with a velvet skin feel.

Key Benefits

  • Special liquid crystal structure: ordered, skin-like layers support the barrier, lock in moisture and can support controlled release of actives.
  • Stable emulsion system: the pre-balanced blend gives reliable, reproducible stability over temperature and time.
  • Outstanding long-lasting moisturizing: helps reduce transepidermal water loss and keeps skin hydrated for hours.
  • Fine, uniform droplets: a smooth, elegant texture with consistent viscosity and a cushiony, velvet after-feel.
  • Wide use-level range: effective from 0.5% up to 5%, covering lotions, creams and treatment products.
  • Convenient one-system format: replaces multiple separate emulsifiers, simplifying purchasing, inventory and production.
  • Versatile compatibility: works well with a broad range of oils, actives and other ingredients.

Applications

  • Face care: moisturizing and nourishing creams, night creams, essences, lotions and balms.
  • Body care: body lotions and butters, hand creams and dry-skin products.
  • Baby and sensitive care: gentle, barrier-supporting creams and lotions.
  • Functional products: formulations carrying actives that benefit from liquid-crystal delivery and lasting hydration.

Process guidance: add at 0.5–5% depending on the oil phase and desired richness, and follow a standard hot oil-in-water process with controlled cooling to best develop the liquid crystal structure. Exact parameters should be validated against the product TDS.

FAQ

Q1: How does it differ from the YLLCEG system? A1: It uses PEG-60 Sorbitan Stearate and Propylene Glycol rather than Sorbitan Stearate and Butylene Glycol, offering the same liquid-crystal benefits with a different polarity and moisturizing profile.

Q2: What confirms the liquid crystal structure? A2: The ordered structure shows characteristic birefringence, including Maltese cross patterns, when the emulsion is viewed under a polarizing microscope.

Q3: Why is the use-level range so wide? A3: It is a complete emulsifying system: low levels suit light lotions, while higher levels build rich creams and treatment textures.
